Meal Time

Meals

Food service is provided by Sodexho Dining Services. Meals are scheduled for the entire camp to eat together and are a great time to relax and socialize with new and old friends. Meal time is a fun part of the camp experience! Three meals a day are provided. Meals are varied day-to-day and plentiful. The dining room is located in the Callahan Center and features a food court with separate stations offering hot entrees, pizza and pasta, grilled sandwiches, a deli and salad bar, and a variety of fresh desserts. Choices always include vegetarian and vegan selections.

Please indicate on the Registration Form whether you generally prefer vegetarian, vegan or regular selections. If you have any special dietary requirements please also include that information.

  • For the Weekend option, meals begin with dinner on Friday, June 27 through dinner on Sunday, June 29. There are two optional add-ons available for weekend campers:
  • For the Extended Weekend, meals begin with dinner on Friday, June 27, through dinner on Monday, June 30. Included is a Camp Barbecue.
    • Thursday Add-On option includes dinner on Thursday, June 26 and breakfast and lunch on Friday, June 27.
    • Monday Night Add-On option includes breakfast Tuesday morning.
  • For the Week, meals begin with dinner on Friday, June 27 through to breakfast on Thursday, July 3. Included is a Camp Barbecue.
  • For those staying for the Whole Shebang, meals are provided over the entire period starting with dinner on Thursday, June 26 through to breakfast on Thursday, July 3. Included is a Camp Barbecue.
  • For those not staying on campus, there is a choice of the Lunch Only or Full Meals plan.
  • Individual cafeteria meals are not available.

Sodexho needs to plan for meals in advance, so it may not be possible to add a meal plan in the two weeks prior to the start of camp or once camp is in session.

Each camp participant will receive a meal card. If doing the Lunch Only or Full Meals plan a check deposit for $5 made out to Endicott College will be required at check-in to receive your meal card. Cash can be left as a deposit although checks are preferable, especially if you are leaving outside of check-out time. Your check will be returned to you at check-out when you turn in your meal card. (If you are rooming on campus the $5 deposit is included with the room key deposit.)

Accommodation

In order to enjoy the full schedule and evening social activities, most people, even locals, choose to stay on campus. Besides the convenience, selecting the full package of meals and housing provides the best value. Staying on campus however is not necessary to attending camp and participants have the option of arranging their own off-campus lodging.

There are five choices for on-campus housing, three of them with air-conditioning. Options include single and double rooms as well as some triples and quadruples. All multiple occupancy rooms have separate beds and you may specify your roommate (either sex) on the Registration Form, otherwise we will match you with a same sex roommate. Whenever possible, we are happy to try and place people either in nearby rooms or in the same suite or unit as requested (please include the information on your Registration Form).

Bedroom furniture is similar in all of the housing options. It includes a bed, desk, bureau and closet or wardrobe for each person. Some of the multiple occupancy rooms have loft beds (desks underneath) or bunk beds. Linen packages are included which consist of 1 pillow, blanket and set of sheets, 2 towels, 1 face cloth, soap and cup. There is no housekeeping service or linen exchange. You may want to bring extra towels, preferably bright colored ones so as not to get them mixed up with the linen provided, and if you have a favorite pillow, bring that too!

All requests will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Each resident will receive one key which unlocks the building door and room door. A check deposit for $30 made out to Endicott College will be required at check-in to receive your key and meal card. Cash can be left as a deposit although checks are preferable, especially if you are leaving outside of check-out time. Your check will be returned to you at check-out when you turn in your key and meal card.

All dorms have washers and dryers as well as some vending machines. (You may want to bring some laundry detergent.) The machines can only be accessed using a prepaid Endicott Gull Card and are not coin operated. The meal card you receive at check-in is also a Gull Card and to place money on it, there are two automatic money boxes located on campus in the lower level of Callahan next to the Beantown Café entracnce and in the Halle Library. Money can also be added during business hours in the Bursar's Office in College Hall where credit cards are also accepted. Money added to the card cannot be refunded so only place on it what you will need.

Winthrop is a 3 story restored mansion built in 1845. Thissellwood, as the property was originally known, was the home of John Thissell. Endicott acquired it in 1944 and renamed it for Governor John Winthrop, the first Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Bedroom choices consist of mostly singles and doubles, as well as 1 triple and 2 quadruples. Shared bathrooms are located on each floor. The hall also has two common rooms used for socializing or watching television. The common kitchen area includes a full size refrigerator, microwave, sink and multiple cabinet spaces. Winthrop is located on the beach side of campus and near to the main campus entrance. It does not have air-conditioning, but it does have a porch and a great view of the beach! Winthrop does not have wireless internet access.
