|
| Beantown
is returning for a fourth year to Endicott
College campus in Beverly, a beautiful
private setting with its own private beaches!
Beverly is in the northeastern part of Massachusetts
just 20 miles north of Boston on the
coast. It is known for its natural beauty
and is just north of Salem, most widely known
as the site of the 1692 witchcraft trials,
and south of Gloucester, America's oldest
fishing port made famous in the movie A
Perfect Storm. |

What
is the Beantown Camp Experience?
Beantown Camp is an all-inclusive event, meaning the package
price gives it all — all camp classes, dances and activities as
well as a choice of meals and
private accommodation (although
there are off-campus options).
Once settled on campus just shut off the stresses of the outside world,
relax and get ready to enjoy immersing yourself in dance camp. Most people
stay on campus, which is a great value and enhances the complete experience.
Having meals on campus, with plentiful quality selections, is convenient
and promotes the camp bonding. The campus accommodation makes staying
up late easy and short naps during the day possible!
Days are filled with classes, practice time and occasionally even a
little time off to enjoy the campus or some R&R. Classes start on
Thursday evening with a variety of Lindy Hop and other choices
to select from. Lindy Hop
Track classes
begin on Friday afternoon and continue through the the remainder
of camp. These classes are progressive and a phenomenal opportunity
to learn from some of the world's best instructors.
Ask anyone who has experienced this and they will tell you
how it improves and inspires your dancing! Plus there are
opportunities to practice with
classmates to really cement class material. Also included
are 3 levels
of Balboa Mini-Tracks,
4 progressive Jazz classes, as well as an assortment of Optional
Classes for those who prefer to sample a variety.
Evenings include more class
options, competitions, a special
presentation with Norma
Miller, performances, as well as other
activities plus all the dancing you could want with live
music and fabulous DJs.
The campus itself has a
lot to offer. Feel like hanging out for awhile? You can wander down to
the beach or have a game of volleyball. Not getting enough exercise?
You can visit the fitness center or take a run around the campus. If
you must check in on the rest of your life you can visit the Cyber
Café or use your laptop on the wireless network. The atmosphere
is very relaxed and conducive to putting your energy into dancing, socializing
and having fun!

A wonderful aspect of Beantown is the camaraderie. Singles, couples
and groups are all welcome. Camp is very social and easy to meet and
make new friends in classes, at meal time and at the evening dances.
Many wonderful friendships have been formed throughout the years and
even 3 marriages! At night when you need a break and want to hang out
for awhile, Beantown Café is
the place to go. Plus there are many other activities planned as part
of the camp, as well as surprises and dancing through the wee hours of
the night. Check out the jam packed schedule!
This will be Beantown's 12th year and the best yet.
All accommodation, meals, classes, dances and events are
located together at the beautiful Endicott College campus
in Beverly, Massachusetts. You can choose to attend the weekend,
extended weekend, week or stay for the whole non-stop shebang!
