Frequently Asked Questions
Are alcoholic beverages permitted on campus?
Alcohol can only be consumed on campus at events run by Beantown Camp and the Endicott College staff. Alcohol will be available for purchase at the Wednesday evening BBQ. It is not permitted to possess or consume alcohol on campus at any other time during Beantown Camp. If you do drink while on campus, be responsible.
You must be at least 21 years of age to consume alcohol, which is the legal drinking age in Massachusetts. Providing alcohol to campers under 21 is grounds for expulsion from camp without a refund.
Are camp events open to someone not registered for one of the camp options?
All camp events, including evening dances, are only open to those registered for the corresponding period. There may be one night open to the public (see Beantown Dance Party).
Can I attend if I am under 18?
As required by Endicott College, minors will no longer be permitted on campus. Please see the Under 18 page for more information.
Do I need to be registered for camp in order to compete?
Yes, all competition participants must be registered for one of the camp options.
Do I need to bring my own linens?
Linens are provided with all of the housing options. Linen packages are included which consist of a bath towel, pillow, blanket and set of sheets. There is no housekeeping service or linen exchange. You may want to bring extra towels (preferably bright colored ones so as not to get them mixed up with the linen provided), a mattress cover for extra comfort, and if you have a favorite pillow, bring that too! You do need to bring your own toiletries (face cloth, soap, shampoo, cups, etc.).
Do I need to register for accommodations if I am sharing a double or quad room?
Yes! All accommodation reservations are per person, so each person in a room submits and pays for their individual registration.
Do I need to register with a partner?
No. There are plenty of campers who attend on their own. With very few exceptions, classes will rotate partners.
How do I send mail to myself while at Beantown Camp?

What if I need to leave outside scheduled checkout times?
If you are leaving outside of the scheduled checkout times, put keys and meal card in provided envelope, write your name and room number on it, and leave in the drop box inside the Campus Police Office. Add your name and room number to the log book. Campus Police do not have your deposit! Beantown staff will retrieve keys and rip up deposit checks.
What if I would like to register for a double or quad but don't have a roommate?
No problem. Each person registers individually for any accommodation option and we will match up those looking for roommates. It is also possible to post on the Beantown Camp Facebook page to find your own roommate.
What should I bring to camp?
See the What to Bring page for some suggestions.
What will the weather be like at camp?
Good question! New England weather is known for its variability so there are no guarantees. In late June and early July, the average mean temperature is about 70° Fahrenheit (21° Celsius) and average high about 80° Fahrenheit (27° Celsius). It is usually sunny, warm and pleasant in the daytime, cooler in the evening. It can be hot and humid, but usually that is more characteristic of later in the summer. Rain is always a possibility.
Where can I park on campus?
Endicott College would like all those with cars parking on campus to put the linked parking pass in their windshield.
There are plenty of parking areas on campus, including lots near all of the dorm buildings. At no time is parking allowed in fire lanes or in unauthorized spaces. All campus roads should be clear of parked vehicles at all times.
Refer to the campus map for the closest parking locations.
